Ishon Liao, Junior Export Associate, 2025–Present: Ishon serves as a Junior Associate for the U.S. Commercial Service, having joined the Program in its first cohort in the spring of 2025. With a strong interest in international trade, international relations, and global markets, he supports the mission of the U.S. Commercial Service by leading the Program's business-to-business and structural projects team. Ishon is enthusiastic about helping U.S. businesses explore new markets and exploring the intersection of business and international policy. He’s active in several organizations at his school, including an entrepreneurship fraternity, the Carolina Diplomacy Initiative, and student government. Ishon hails from Orange County, California, and in his personal life, enjoys playing sports, exploring the wilderness, and listening to music. Grace McGoran, Export Analyst, Spring 2026: Grace is a sophomore at Stanford University pursuing a B.A. in International Relations with a minor in Data Science, focusing on international security and the world economy. She has spent three years conducting research at the Hoover Institution on topics including authoritarianism, geopolitics, and world history. Grace is interested in diplomacy, national security, and economic development, and is studying Chinese and French to strengthen her ability to engage with international issues across different regions and cultures.
Tyler Taplett, Export Analyst, Spring 2026: Tyler brings knowledge in trade policy having served as a Governmental Relations Intern for the National Association of Waterfront Employers, a D.C.-based trade assocation, where he analyzed maritime regulations, drafted congressional briefing memos, and engaged with trade policy at the federal level. Driven by a passion for the global economy, he is dedicated to pursuing a career in global trade and international relations. Tyler Taplett is a senior at Wake Forest University, double majoring in Politics and International Affairs as well as English and minoring in Global Trade and Commerce Studies.
Stephen Fitts, Export Analyst, Spring 2026: Stephen serves as an Export Analysts for the Students & Young Professionals Program at the U.S. Commercial Service, supporting strategic coordination and program execution across multiple workstreams. He brings over 22 years of leadership experience from the United States Army, where he served in both enlisted and commissioned roles, followed by private-sector experience in program and operations management. Prior to joining the Program, Stephen spent seven years at Harmonic Inc., leading global initiatives in professional services, cybersecurity, and PON interoperability, and collaborating with cross-functional teams across North America, Europe, Israel, and Ukraine. Within the Program, he focuses on translating strategic objectives into executable plans, strengthening coordination across teams, and supporting leadership decision-making. Stephen is currently pursuing his M.B.A. at the University of North Carolina’s Kenan-Flagler Business School and resides in North Carolina.
Caitlyn Lamb, Export Analyst, Spring 2026: Caitlyn Lamb, Export Analyst 2026–Present: Caitlyn serves as an Export Analyst for the U.S. Commercial Service, having joined the program in January 2026. A student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, she is pursuing a degree in Economics and Peace, War, and Defense, with a minor in Arabic. Caitlyn is deeply interested in the intersection of diplomatic affairs and international economics, and she is passionate about helping U.S. businesses expand globally while navigating complex cross-cultural relations. On campus, she is an active member of the Carolina Economics Club and the Arabic Conversational Club. William Lee, Export Analyst, Spring 2026: William is a student at Vanderbilt University, studying English and Legal Studies. He is interested in international business and diplomacy. At school, he serves as a legal research assistant and works at a cognitive studies lab. Prior to these roles, he held positions across other levels and branches of government. After graduation, he plans to attend law school.
Amari Luu, Export Analyst, Spring 2026: Amari Luu is a history and public policy student at Stanford University. He is deeply interested in 20th-century geopolitics, military strategy, and writing. Outside of academics and work, he is a children's book author and illustrator as well as an avid scale-model builder.
Madeleine Bochniak, Export Analyst, Spring 2026: Madeleine Bochniak is a junior at Wake Forest University, majoring in Politics and International Affairs and minoring in History with an interest in public policy, international relations, and law. Madeleine brings previous experience in congressional processes and client engagement from my work as a Fall Fellow at The Madison Group.
Claire Chi, Export Analyst, Spring 2026: Claire Chi brings policy experience serving on Pennsylvania’s State Board of Education and leading Stanford’s Cardinal Policy Group. Claire also founded the nonprofit Dancing Against Hunger, collaborating with global food and beverage companies. A U.S. Senate Youth Delegate, she is passionate about advancing economic opportunity. Claire studies Political Science as a sophomore at Stanford.
Sherry Qin, Export Analyst, Summer 2025–Present: Sherry serves as an Export Analyst for the U.S. Commercial Service. On the business-to-business generalist team, she conducts market research and prepares strategic recommendations for small businesses entering international markets. She brings skills in data analysis and strategic planning in various industries. She continues to pursue opportunities at the intersection of economics and international business. Sherry Qin is a junior at the University of California, Irvine, majoring in Business Economics and minoring in Statistics.
